Head of Proposals

Location: Northern Home Counties, South Midlands area, hybrid working.

Role Overview

Are you a dynamic leader passionate about driving business success through strategic proposal management?

As the Head of Proposals, you will be instrumental in leading the Proposal function, ensuring the development of winning proposals that align with company strategy and meet the highest industry standards.

You will lead and motivate a team of Proposal Managers, oversee tender processes, and champion the Commercial Process, driving continuous improvement and compliance across all proposals.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Proposal Function: Oversee all aspects of the Proposal function, ensuring proposals are crafted in line with the UK Commercial Process and company standards.

Champion the Commercial Process: Act as the custodian and advocate for the Commercial Process, ensuring it is continuously refined and aligned with best practices.

Manage Tender Administration: Direct the tender administration process, including managing procurement portals, ensuring compliance with client procurement requirements, and supporting all stages of tender submissions.

Develop Winning Proposals: Collaborate across departments to create and maintain a library of proposal content that aligns with company strategy, creating proposals that are both compliant and compelling.

Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop the Proposal team, managing resources effectively to prioritize work, uphold high standards, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Strategic Vision: Strong strategic and operational thinking with the ability to understand and translate complex client needs into successful proposals.

  • Leadership Excellence: Proven experience in managing and developing high-performing teams to meet business objectives.

  • Commercial Acumen: In-depth understanding of business, legal, and regulatory frameworks within the private security industry.

  • Creative Flair: Exceptional communication skills with a talent for crafting persuasive narratives and visually appealing presentations.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience: Previous management experience in sales, marketing, or commercial contracting.

  • Eligibility: Right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable work history.

  • Certifications: Professional qualifications with bodies such as the Association of Proposal Management Professionals.
